I've been hanging out with a lot more people that I went to college with and having some fun times, but these aren't usually black women. A lot of friends are also getting married and having kids and it becomes hard to have a fun friendship with someone that never has time for you any more. But, that's neither hear nor there. This post is about this chick I had the pleasure of not slapping the other day.
I mentioned my Jewish friend (see Attraction) and how we've started spending more time together as of recently. I helped him plan his house warming a few weeks ago. At the party this one chick comes in and the second thing out of her mouth was "how do you guys know each other?" I let him answer and he told her that we "dated or dating, we don't really know yet." She the proceeded to say, "oh, I see your type now! Look at her, me and your ex Ava. We all look the same." In my head all I'm thinking is "really bitch. Really?" Did you need to say that to prove that you went out with him? And besides us both being light-skinned black females, we didn't look that much alike. She had about 6 inches and 60 lbs on me. And I'm not that skinny.
There were a few other weird moments, but I didn't pay much attention since I was trying to be a good host to the nice friends that he did have there. The night wound down and she left and slowly his other friends left. He told me I could crash since he lives about 40 minutes from my house. And so I did. Things went pretty far that night. We didn't end up having sex, but I was taken by surprise with some oral pleasure.
He and I really started talking more often over the next couple weeks, so when he asked me to come by for Super Bowl, I was excited and hoping that we finish what we had started two weeks ago. I get there late because I baked some fresh cookies, made a snack, bought some drinks and even shaved my legs and everything in anticipation of finishing what we had started a couple weeks ago. I get to his house and walked in the door, as he's told me to do. And she's sitting on the couch. She said, "we didn't hear you knock." I don't really acknowledge her because it wasn't her place to say anything.
We're watching The Voice, she made a few more comments to underscore how well she knew him. But she was thrown off when he told her about the concert we had went to a year and a half ago. She didn't realize I was "that" girl. Since she obviously wasn't trying to leave and I could sense he was uncomfortable, I was getting ready to leave. But when she started laying across his couch and saying she needed to take a nap, I quickly got my coat. He walked me to the door with a half-hearted hug.
I quickly headed to my regular bar. Now mad that I gave up the evening to hang out with my real friends and really enjoy the game, to make a 40 minute trip and still not get laid. Luckily my friends had all headed up there after the game and I enjoyed what was left of the night.
But am I overreacting? Did she purposely show her catty side and trying to prove her place with him. If she knew that we were dating, wouldn't it have been appropriate for her to leave first and not me? I'm not even going to get started on him. He hasn't called or texted me since I left his house and I haven't contacted him either. I'm way too old to be playing games and it feels like she just put me in the middle of one.

How many close female friends do you have? When the post game ended, the other guys left. She and I were the only females there. There had been other awkward moments from things that she had said, but I was trying to ignore them because I really thought I was about to get some. But she wasn't leaving. She was doing things like going into his kitchen and making stuff. When he asked if she needed help, she proclaimed that if she didn't know where something was at, she'd ask. The chick made a protein shake at 11 p.m. Really? Wow you know where the cups and the pantry is. And your fat ass should stop drinking protein shakes. (Guess I'm turning into the catty one now)
