So You Say He's Just a Friend

I said it several times. He's just a friend. Why is it so hard for some people to accept men and women being just friends. I often say its the lack of confidence that causes them not to trust their partner near other people. Well I have the confidence to not worry that my man would cheat.

I grew up with a bunch of uncles and male cousins. And little brothers. I've been around guys all of my life. Hanging out at the garage my family owned, helping to fix on cars. Buying older cars so I can work on them. I played with my Barbie girls, but I also played with G.I. Joe and Hot Wheels. I grew up being a bunch of guys little sister or cousin, and I'm happy to still be friends with a couple of these guys.

This post made me think of this old song: Biz Markie - Just a Friend

Now here is a gray area. I am friends with people that I have slept with and some that I've had relationships with. I think  this is the sticking point for most guys. But if we aren't together then something must have happened to make us realize that we make better friends.

Honestly, I haven't meet a lot of guys still friends with exes, so I'm not sure how I would react to their friendship with another woman. But once again, I have confidence in myself and I must have trust in a person that I start a relationship with. I find that special guy, I expect him to accept my friends of the opposite sex, just as I would accept his.
