Turn Offs: Tipping

So the guy at the bar that I have been thinking was really cute for a while (see Who's on First) just did something that has cemented his fate in never getting a date. He only tipped the waitstaff $1. That's right One Dollar. Seriously?

This is not a guy that looks like he's hard up for money. And if he is, why is he at the bar a minimum of three nights a week? After he left I said to the bartender, "A dollar? Seriously?" To which she replied, "girl, every time."

I don't know if that was someone that is just cheap, doesn't value our food service workers or truly doesn't care. I now see why he gave me a funny look when I tipped $5 on a $13 bill. Some people don't realize that restaurant workers only make about $2 an hour and depend on tips.

I also take care of my bartenders, especially in a place that you regularly frequent. If you take care of them, they will take care of you. Rather its something as small as throwing some extra cherries or grenadine in your drink (some bars charge for this). Or bigger like giving you a free drink, making it a little stronger, or giving you a free appetizer.

Well, on to the next one. And here's to hoping he's not cheap. And if a guy truly hates tipping, take your a$$ to a fast food restaurant where tipping is not required.
